I want to buy a carrier for Sami. I have a pouch sling, but she doesn't like it because she can't move or see things. I don't want to buy a BabyBjorn because they are too expensive, but I do want something that's comfy and secure. I've been looking at front/back carriers (like the Bjorn, but not $80), mei tai carriers, and baby wraps. I read reviews on all the carriers I'm interested in, but would like to hear what my friends and family think. Any advice or opinions would be great! :)
PS: I just have to say that Zach and I bought season tickets to the BYU football games and I'm so excited!
PPS: Marci, I will answer your tag soon!

Once my kids got past the newborn stage, I never found a frontpack I liked much. I'm a big fan of my sling (I sit the baby on my hip, then have the sling go across their back and under their bum, so they're sitting up. I love it for crowded places, where strollers and backpacks get in the way.) But once they have good trunk control, the backpack is our best friend. I have a really old one that's just an aluminum frame and fabric seat (very, very light-weight). Actually, I'm pretty sure Zach sat in it at one point!
Good luck with the search, and Go Cougars!
Have you checked Kid to Kid? I saw a Bjorn there once, in really good condition, for only $30. I have an Easy Rider (I think that is what it is called) just like a Bjorn and I like it OK. I don't feel like Claire is as secure as she was when I borrowed my sisters Bjorn. But, it is nice to have.
Tara! I have a Bjorn that Harrison doesn't fit in anymore - so I have it in a box waiting for the next babe to come along. I would love for you to borrow it - we LOVED it. Jordan didn't even mind wearing it because it is black and as manly as baby gear can get I guess...anyway Zach has my number, PLEASE borrow it if you like.
go with the Bjorn...they are totally worth it. And you'll have it for kids to come. (who may be colicky and it will save your life!)
