*Emily, does making bread from scratch qualify me as a "real mom"? :) Maybe not quite to the level of making freezer jam...I still need to try that.
I neglected a post on Wednesday. It was our anniversary-4 years. We haven't celebrated yet, that is happening tomorrow. Thanks to Holmes Homes and our bad reviews, we are going to Rodizio Grill for dinner tomorrow. So I guess it's a good thing we both like meat. I should make a tribute to the last four years I've been married to the man of my dreams...
Year One: Flowers AT LEAST once a month due to some emotional breakdown by me. More than a few "bad" dinner experiences. (Spaghetti, Chicken Noodle Soup...)
Year Two: Flowers on all the major holidays and once or twice for no reason. Almost all good dinner experiences.
Year Three: Flowers when I got back from a 10-day visit in Oregon and anniversary and birthday and Mother's Day. Less bad dinner experiences than year two.
Year Four: Ummm...Flowers when I got back from Oregon. Does this mean there were no more emotional breakdowns??? (In Zach's dreams.) I think I may have regressed in my cooking skills because we had some bad dinner experiences...artichoke chicken stuff, sour cream apple chicken stuff...among others!
Although this is true and is meant to be funny I need to redeem myself. I love Zach NO MATTER how many times he gives me flowers (although once or twice a year would be nice;)). The foundation of our marriage is not based on such superficial things. Our loyalty to each other, our love for each other and the Lord, our friendship, the way we compliment each other, looking past each others weaknesses...those are the things the make up the foundation of our marriage. And the man deserves an award or something for dealing with all the emotional breakdowns and sensitivity...and bad dinners...and the first two months after having a baby...and not being able to play Monopoly with me. Do season tickets to BYU football games count??? I am looking forward to Year Five with Zach and actually, how about just the rest of Eternity with him.

Happy anniversary to you both. Aunt Barb would probably say you're lucky to get flowers at all. I'm not very good about that - unless you count all the "weeds" in the backyard as flowers. What's the deal with Holmes Homes you mentioned?
The bread looks fabulous! Thanks for being such a good wife to our son!
Uncle Mel, Holmes Homes is the company that built our house. They were/are a PAIN to work with and so everytime they send us a survey, we give them bad reviews. Everytime they call Zach and talk to him about the review. This time they asked Zach where we like to eat, so he told them Rodizio Grill. Hence the $75.00 gift certificate and the free date for us! Sweet.
Also, I don't really care that Zach hasn't given me flowers every week or whatever, I am just teasing him. :)
I was curious because there's a program on tv (TLC) called "Holmes on Homes" and the host (Mike Holmes) is constantly berating other contractors and their shabby work. It's probably just a coincidence - the tv program is filmed in Canada - so it's likely there's no connection. Have fun at Rodizlo Grill!
