Top 10 Greatest Movie Quotes according to me.

Why? No reason. I just felt like it.

#10 - "At ease, gentelmen." - Chris Pine as James Tiberius Kirk in Star Trek

#9 - "Rise, sir, from this semi-recumbent posture. It is most indecorous." - Judy Dench as Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest

#8 - "I had a bad experience! (Dang) it, I'm deaf." - Mos Def as Left Ear in The Italian Job

#7 - "Aaaaaaaaaah! That's right! That's right! Get off! Get off me! That's what you get! Ha haaa! Look at you! Ship all banged up! Who's the man, huh? Who's the man? Wait till I get another plane! I'm lining all your friends up right beside you!" - Will Smith as Captain Steven Hiller in Independence Day

#6 - "They can't think, they can't imagine, most of them can't even spell. They just...run things." - Mos Def as Ford Prefect in The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy

#5 - "I'm sorry, Mr. President, I don't dance." - Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan in Clear and Present Danger

#4 - "The encounter could create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's a worse-case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy." - Christopher Lloyd as Doctor Emmett Brown in Back to the Future Part II

#3 - "The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately, in England at any rate education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square." - Judy Dench as Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest

#2 - "I ain't got time to bleed." - Jesse Ventura as Blaine Cooper on Predator (I've never actually seen this movie, but is there any context in which that quote isn't incedible?)

#1 - "You took an oath, if you recall, when you first came to work for me. And I don't mean to the National Security Advisor of the United States. I mean to his boss, and I don't mean the President. You gave your word to his boss. You gave your word to the People of the United States. Your word is who you are." - James Earl Jones as Admiral James Greer in Clear and Present Danger

Love these! You forgot two (that I can never hear without thinking of you):

"Years of academy training, WASTED!" Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story.

"We'll get there when we GET THERE!" Craig Nelson as Mr. Incredible in The Incredibles.

Oops, one more.

"YOU MUSTARD!" (Back to the Future)

The fact that you can remember ten quotes from movies verbatim is amazing. How do you do that?!

Well, I didn't remember the exact wording on them. We own most of the movies so I cheated.

Those are both worthy additions, Trina, as long as they're said correctly. The written word doesn't do them justice.

2 other favorites from Toy Story:

"They are a terrillium-carbonic alloy, and I CAN fly."

"Are you still using fossil fuels, or have you discovered crystallic fusion?"

I'm afraid I'm drawing a blank on the mustard quote. Can you help me out?

Ha - those are both classics too!

At some point in our early VHS-ownership, we recorded "Back to the Future" and watched it TO DEATH. At some point Marty calls the Libyan terrorists a name that would indicate illegitimate birth, and one or more of you boys understood it as "mustard" and used it for a long time after that.
